About
I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park, advised by Dori Bejleri.
Before coming to Maryland, I completed a B.Sc. in Mathematics and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul.
Here is my CV (last updated November 2026). My talks, teaching, and thesis and lecture notes are on separate pages.
Research
I am interested in number theory, arithmetic geometry, and formalization. My current project is on higher-genus motivic height zeta functions for weighted projective stacks. I am also interested in formal theorem proving and in benchmarking automated theorem provers.

MathAdv: What Theorem Provers Know, Reason, Formalize, and GeneralizearXiv:2608.25449 Code and data BibTeX
Abstract
Formal theorem proving enables machine-verifiable evaluation of mathematical reasoning, yet existing benchmarks often emphasize aggregate proof accuracy, concentrate on a narrow range of mathematics, and provide limited evidence of robustness to equivalent reformulations. We introduce MathAdv, a diagnostic benchmark spanning 13 domains across undergraduate- and graduate-level mathematics.

An Alexandrov Topology for Maximal Cohen–Macaulay ModulesJournal arXiv:2210.03532 BibTeX
Abstract
Using the theory of cohomology annihilators, we define a family of topologies on the set of isomorphism classes of maximal Cohen–Macaulay modules over a Gorenstein ring. We study compactness of these topologies.
